Abraham Maslow was an influential psychologist throughout the 20th century, and arguably his most famous contribution was something called "The Heirarchy of Needs." The theory suggests that once base needs are met, humans simply work up the ladder seeking more intangible achievements. The fifth and final level is self-actualization. I want to apply that work to what we do in our restaurants. I think you'll see there's quite a bit of overlap!
